What happened to Vegas Gems

Vegas Gems has closed. The site stopped taking new players and wound down its social and sweepstakes operations in 2025, and its games are no longer available. Player balances were settled at closure, so there are no outstanding Gems or pending redemptions left on the platform.

We have kept this page as a record of what Vegas Gems was, and — more usefully if you played there — as a shortlist of the sweepstakes casinos still open today. You can jump straight to our ranking of the best sweepstakes casinos, or read on for a quick history.

What Vegas Gems was

Vegas Gems launched in 2023 as a US sweepstakes and social casino run by JSP Media Holdings LLC. It used a two-tier virtual-currency model: Shards, which were for standard play and could not be cashed out, and Gems, the promotional currency that could be redeemed at a rate of 1 Gem to $1. Minimum redemption was 100 Gems for cash or $25 for gift cards, paid out by bank transfer, cryptocurrency or gift card.

The library ran to more than 1,100 titles across slots, table games, poker variants, baccarat, Sic Bo and a set of original games such as Mines, Crash, Wheel, Coin Flip and Towers, supplied by studios including 3 Oaks Gaming, Betsoft, Belatra, Evoplay and Habanero. It never offered live-dealer tables.

Best alternatives to Vegas Gems

If you were a Vegas Gems player, the closest still-open options are the top-rated brands on our list. Start with our best sweepstakes casinos ranking for the current leaders, browse social casino slots if the game library was the draw, or check the fastest-paying sweepstakes casinos if quick Gem-style redemptions mattered most to you. Each of those brands is live, verified and accepting new US players.

Redeeming and account balances

Because Vegas Gems settled balances as part of its wind-down, there is nothing left to redeem on the platform and no active account to log into. If you are researching sweepstakes redemptions in general, our guide on how to redeem Sweeps Coins walks through how the process works at the casinos that are still running.
